Our founder Rev. Harris, under the calling of God, resigned his government job and started a church in a rented place in Madurai, with just 3 people. The church started growing rapidly, and so within a few years they had to move to a bigger campus, which could seat nearly 500 people. Having been under two denominations for several years, our founder and senior pastor saw that there was no room to grow in that framework. The vision of God to expand and multiply resulted in coming out and founding Living Word Church at Madakulam, in 1994. It was started in a thatched-roof building with a seating capacity of 1000, but soon expansion was necessary. In 1998, Rev. Harris laid the founding stone of our present facility, which can seat nearly 3200 people, and is around 28,000 square feet in area. Presently we have a weekly attendance of around 3000 believers every week, on Sunday mornings. While Rev. Harris serves as the senior pastor, Rev. S. Solomon serves as the assistant pastor of the church.The Church is one is one of the fastest growing ones in the province, and so we are also working on expanding our present facility. It is wonderful to see how thousands of lives are being changed and transformed by Living Word Church. We, at Living Word Church, honor the Word of God.The Lord has been confirming His word with signs and wonders in our church. People have been delivered from the power of sin and death. People with various addictions have obtained deliverance. People who did not have children for many years after marriage, have begotten children. Some cancer patients have been healed, and are alive and well now. They stand as living testimonies to the goodness of the Lord. So many poverty stricken people have been set free and are now living financially abundant lives. It is a privilege to watch all these lives being transformed by the word of God and the renewing of the mind at our church. Other weekly services include a Bible study, and fasting prayer.
